Our report introduces the use of usability factors as a means of predicting the user experience in cyber space. It discusses measurable usability factors such as productivity, learnability, user satisfaction, memorability and error rates of a website. These factors can be used to predict how a user of Website will experience the interaction with the site. In support for this, it reports on the results of a small pilot study done at a university to determine the feasibility of a more extensive study aimed at building a model for the prediction of the user experience. The authors hope to gain better understanding of the relationship between usability factors and the subjective user experience which will lead to the design of more successful Websites.
